Delhi
Our
tour starts in the bustling capital city of Delhi, providing a
fascinating introduction to the sights and sounds of India. During
our time in Delhi we explore atmospheric Old Delhi with its busy
winding streets and colourful bazaars. Drive past the imposing Red
Fort, visit the largest Mosque in India Jamma Masjid and also
visit the 2nd world war memorial of India Gate.
Agra
Home
to the Taj Mahal, truly one of the world’s most iconic buildings,
and its greatest monument built to commemorate love. We visit the
impressive Agra fort, the stunning deserted Mughal city of
Fatephur Sikri and the incomparable Taj Mahal at dawn. We then
travel to the historic town of Bharatpur for 1 nights stay at the
Laxmi Villas Palace, a beautiful heritage palace built for the
family of Maharajah Ram Singh.
Jaipur
The
'Pink City' of Jaipur, with its bustling streets, opulent palaces
and historic sights, is the capital of Rajasthan. Visit the famous
Hawa Mahal, Royal Oberservatory, Monkey Temple and the Amber Fort.
In the afternoon catch the latest Bollywood movie at the Raj
Mandir Theatre, one of the largest cinemas in India.
Pushkar
Pushkar is famous for the Lord Brahma Temple and camel fair, also
called as Pushkar Fair. Pushkar is also an important religious
place for Hindus.
Pushkar Fair : - The well-known and marked with largest
participation of all the festivals of Rajasthan, Pushkar is an
important pilgrimage as well as the venue of a mammoth cattle
fair. Bazaars, auctions, music and sports are highlight of this
event Recommended.
Udaipur
The city of Lakes. Udaipur is a lovely land around the azure water
lake, hemmed in by the lush hills of the Aravali.
420 km from Jaipur on Jaipur-Mumbai highway also called "City of
Lakes" was founded by Maharana Udai Sigh II in 1568. Also called
"Venice of East" is famous for lakes, palaces (Lake Palace Hotel),
city palace, puppet museum, miniature paintings, and temples (Nathadwara
50 km and Eklangji 20 km from Udaipur). Udaipur is a fascinating
blend of sights, sound and experiences and inspiration for the
imagination of poets, painters and writers.
Jodhpur
Jodhpur - The second
largest city of Rajasthan, sits on the edge of the great Thar
Desert. Jodhpur city is surrounded by a 10 km long wall with
eight gates serving as entrances. The new city is settled around
this walled area. The Maruthal or 'land of death' , came into life
when the Rathores of Kanauj moved in. But the city of Jodhpur was
founded by Rao Jodhaji in 1459 AD.
Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer - the golden desert city of Rajasthan. 275 Kms
from Jodhpur, also called "Golden City" was founded by Rao Jaisal.
Famous for the Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon-ki-haveli, sand dunes, and
ideal for camel rides and safaris. The city has an interesting
legend associated with it, according to which, Lord Krishna-the
head of the Yadav Clan, foretold Arjuna that a remote descendent
of the Yadav Clan would built his kingdom atop the Trikuta Hill.
Bikaner
Bikaner - lying in
the north of the desert state, the city is dotted with many sand
dunes. More popularly called the camel country , the city is
renowned for the best riding camels in the world.
In route on your way from Jaipur (330 km) to Jaisalmer (320 km)
was founded in 15th century by Rao Bika. Known for durries,
carpets, hand painted lamp shades, and mojari slippers. Also for
the camel safari and Junagarh Fort.
Mandwa
Mandwa was founded by Thakur Nawal Singh, a descendant of Rao
Shekha after whom the whole Shekhawati region was named. Today
this small town has come out as a major centre of handicrafts and
furniture industry. This castle was built in the year 1755 and is
approachable through two gateways mounted with cannons. Several
narrow staircases and courtyards connect the dinning room with the
rest of the rooms, which were added to the palace over the
centuries.
